A few days ago there was a feature on the book The Girl on the Train, which apparently everyone is reading and loving. (you can stop reading here if you were one of them)
When I read it, the only thing I walked away with was – this author might not have spent much time with an alcoholic, even a functional one most likely wouldn’t be capable of doing what was claimed. On the other hand, the character development in the book was just that good. If you believed anything that was claimed in the first 2/3 of the book, it made the last 1/3 implausible. I guess this just was an unreliable narrator that I couldn’t come to care for. Thanks Gone Girl!
Unpopular opinion perhaps. It’s ok, I’ve had those before 🙂
