When you see the boy you rode bikes with and had summer crushes on for years, on the cover of a funeral program…
I watched a documentary last night that was nothing short of heartbreaking and infuriating. If nothing else, this documentary clearly shows the importance of doing your job well – no matter what that job is. Paying attention and stepping up when you need to, not playing favorites or valuing one person’s life over another. A murder could have been prevented if more people had done their jobs thoroughly. They dropped the ball.
Currently reading a book of short stories called Honeydew. My favorite story so far was about an anesthesiologist who falls in love with and marries a patient who is too sick to leave the hospital. Neither was planning on marriage, life just happened – even in a hospital room. There really is some light you just can’t quell. The patient dies a few weeks later, but they were the happiest they had ever been in those few days together.
Two of my favorites together at last. She covers this song so beautifully. It is painful perfection. Hear the original Here
